This is a blog about things of the past - TV, music, fashion, sport, social customs, in short anything that takes my fancy. I don't mean it to be merely a nostalgia blog, though I am a hugely - some would say dysfunctionally - nostalgic person who has lived in the past to a quite shocking degree ever since I was a child. It is more a leisurely and nuanced reflection upon times past in which I will sport whatever hat I choose to wear that day, be it that of a historian, a jaded old traveller or a wondering child. The emphasis will frequently be upon things that we once had that have since been changed or lost, for which I make no apology. And while there will inevitably be a bias towards the period in which I feel a personal investment - that between the Second World War and the close of the 1970s - I reserve the right to dip deeper into Time's great river.
